Article Databases
Article databases are available in the Articles section of the Library Web site and MyDU. When accessing article databases off-campus, you will be asked to enter your Dominican network ID and password.

The FCC, an independent government agency, "is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable." This site contains current headlines, information for consumers, statistics, and reports on things such as digital TV and closed captioning.
Museum of Broadcast Communications

Located in Chicago, the non-profit Museum “collect[s], preserve[s], and present[s] historic and contemporary radio and television content”. Of particular interest are the Encyclopedia of Television and Flashback clips.
Association of America’s Public Television Stations

The APTS “is a nonprofit membership organization established in 1980 to support the continued growth and development of a strong and financially sound noncommercial television service for the American public.” This site includes links to and information about local public TV stations, and information about national issues such as education and funding.
American Film Institute

“AFI is a national institute providing leadership in screen education and the recognition and celebration of excellence in the art of film, television and digital media.” This site includes the “AFI 100 Years” series of the 100 best films in various categories.
British Film Institute

“The BFI promotes understanding and appreciation of Britain's rich film and television heritage and culture.” On this site find a film and television database, current news, and information on screenings and festivals.
CineFiles

From the Pacific Film Archives at UC-Berkeley, this database contains scanned articles on the films included in the Archives. It is searchable by title, subject, genre, director, year, country, or studio.
